Judy was elected president of the Society of Boat and Yacht Designers from 1992-1994 -- the first woman to serve in that role. She is a current member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. She has served six years on the Advisory Board for Apparel, Merchandising and Interior Design at Washington State University, and is a past member of the Seattle Marine Business Coalition and The American Boat and Yacht Council, Inc. Bell-Davis is a frequent featured speaker and seminar leader and writes interior design columns for a variety of marine publications.
The granddaughter of a West Coast boat builder, Bell-Davis has lived aboard, crewed for and owned boats all her life. She studied liberal arts at the U. of Oregon; sculpting, gestalt graphic design and fiber art at Green River Community College in Auburn, WA - where her sculpting was featured in a one woman show; interior design at the Interior Design Institute in Bellevue, WA; and computer aided design (CAD) at North Seattle Community College. Her major strengths are considered her communication skills, project management and the intuitive identification of her client's project wishes.

Steve is an Art Center College of Design Honors Graduate with 19 years Marine Industry Experience. He served as a Staff Industrial Designer for Yamaha, Wellcraft/Scarab, and Meridian Yachts/US Marine for most of his career. He designed concept-to-production over 43 models ranging from performance boats to yachts for US Marine alone with over 30,000 units produced.

Steve has also designed for Regal, Northern Marine, Nordic Tugs, Edgewater, Cigarette, ACB, and confidential clients in Asia and Latin America.
Steve brings a talented sketch hand and 14 years CAD experience to the Team. He has extensive production experience and a reputation for problem solving with elegant, cost effective, beautiful designs.

“Listening, collaboration, and teamwork are how to dial in on a customer’s wishes and result with an excellent design solution. I enjoy design tremendously and love working directly with customers.
I love solving the puzzle and transforming what was otherwise an underused space or an ugly exterior into something much better. It is amazing what can be done.
I complement Judy’s experience and talents nicely, and it has been quite fun to work with her on both new projects and refits.”

Cliff's strengths include his amazing talent to solve problems through sketching, rendering and clay and foam core modeling.

Cliff's major strength is his ability to quickly sort out details in pencil sketches during meetings. He has been working with Bell Design Group on their major projects since 1991.
Education: Art Center, Los Angeles. Transportation Design.
