CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

  • We are looking for a full-time Project Architect to join our growing and fast-paced team in an architectural role focused on projects of varying scales and technical complexities. Project Architects are the leaders of developing architectural plans and will work hand-in-hand with Project Managers and the design team to create exceptional projects. A Project Architect should have extensive knowledge of the building process, from conceptual design through construction, and be able to apply architectural principles, practices and techniques consistently and with exploratory drive. The right person for this role will be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and collaborative problem solver, as well as have significant experience in code analysis and detailing/documentation. A candidate needs to be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a passion for craft and an eye for detail and quality.

    We are looking for someone that thrives in the multi-dimensional, problem-solving environment of our industry. This position is also expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing positive support, mentorship and training to junior staff.

    This position is for our Los Angeles studio.

    Responsibilities

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture

    • License required for Project Architect (unlicensed applicants will be considered for the title Project Captain II)

    • 8-15+ years of experience for Project Architect / Senior Project Architect

    • Software experience required to include BIM, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite

    • ArchiCAD and AutoCAD experience is preferred

    • Ability to work both independently and in teams

    • Excellent organizational skills

    • Detailed and technical drafting skills

    • An astute eye for design sensibilities

    • Strong redlining skills to provide clear direction to teams

    • Knowledge of agency processing and code compliance

    • Attention to both detail and big-picture concepts

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently

    • Solid knowledge of codes, specs, engineering systems and construction methods

    • Resourceful, adaptive and efficient

    • Varied experience with a desire to learn

  • We’re currently seeking a Project Manager to join our studio. This is a full-time role for a highly motivated individual who brings technical expertise, managerial excellence, and leadership to the table. You’ll work closely with Project Architects and design teams to lead the development of architectural projects and ensure excellence from concept through construction. While there is a broad range of project types that you will be engaged in, this position will have an emphasis on affordable housing in California and nationwide, as well as Civic and Institutional work. This may require both local and out-of-state travel for meetings and job site visits. Additionally, the Project Manager will be part of the studio leadership and is expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing support, mentorship and training for junior staff.

    This position is for our Los Angeles studio.

    What You’ll Do

    • Oversee all phases of project development, including planning, contracts, design coordination, budgeting, and construction administration.

    • Manage project schedules, resources, and deliverables to meet client expectations and firm standards.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.

    • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.

    • Participate in firm-wide QAQC

    • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.

    • Solve complex design and technical challenges with creativity and precision

    • Represent the studio in client meetings, presentations, and agency reviews

    • Engage in studio culture, leadership, and continuous improvement

    What You’ll Bring

    • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)

    • Architectural license preferred but not required

    • 10-12+ years of experience, with at least 3-5 years as a Project Manager on multi-family, commercial, mixed-use and/or hospitality projects

      • Experience in Affordable Housing, both new construction and rehabilitations, is preferred

      • Experience in Civic and Institutional work preferred

      • Experience must also include carrying projects of both large and small scale from design concept through completion

    • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Sufficient skills with BIM (ArchiCAD preferred), AutoCAD, Miro, and other drafting software.

    • Strong knowledge of code analysis, construction methods, engineering systems, agency processing, construction detailing, and contract administration.

    ·         Recent, comprehensive experience dealing with accessibility codes is a bonus

    • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
