Bell Design Group was selected by the City of San Bernardino to provide architectural and interior design services for the renovation and modernization of their 64,000 SFT central library that has not been considerably renovated since 1985. Some of the upgrades include: replacement of all exterior glass, improvements to the HVAC system, replacement of all lighting systems, new finishes throughout, the installation of an emergency generator, and disabled access compliance.

The project also calls for a new Teen Center within the library. BDG performed a program analysis and building survey to determine recommendations for the Teen Center, as well as other various architectural improvements. Enhancing the existing office spaces is another component that BDG addressed, along with designing a new color and material palette for the library’s interior.
