This warehouse conversion included exterior improvements and interior architecture to create a neutral environment for the headquarters of an iconic fashion brand to design and display its merchandise in Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District.
BDG collaborated with Fear of God founder and lead designer Jerry Lorenzo to shape a small, city-like atmosphere where creativity and introspection can coexist, rather than conflict with, daily business operations. The goal of having small enclaves of aesthetically neutral spaces was achieved by carefully attending to the functional and programmatic needs of each area.

The Fear of God studio contributes to the growing business community within the LA Fashion District, addressing nighttime safety concerns through a deliberately understated exterior that features black-painted brick and no identifying signage.
From a sustainability standpoint, strategies focused on maximizing reuse, minimizing waste, and reducing both embodied and operational carbon footprints. The building was repurposed rather than demolished, with energy-efficient windows added along the façade. Clerestory lighting was retained to support natural daylighting, and Energy Star appliances and low-flow plumbing fixtures further reduced operational costs and environmental impact, positioning the project as a responsible model for future adaptive-reuse efforts.
