The Mission LA Campus for East End Studios is an adaptive reuse facility located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. The development converts roughly 154,000 square feet of cold storage space into 246,600 square feet of motion picture studios and production offices.
Drawing on the style and structure of the adjacent rail yard, the design celebrates and complements the local architecture while providing Class A motion picture studios.

Taking these design cues from the surrounding industrial area, the façade highlights the vertical circulation towers that separate the office and stage areas. Using durable materials at the ground level (metal panels and concrete), the base is utilitarian, strictly serving the stage functions. The upper levels house both production and post-production spaces, as well as a dual-purpose commissary and roof decks. Both the offices and the stages are arranged to accommodate multiple productions simultaneously, or to outfit a single major production.
